The Blue Ribbon Trout Cabin is conveniently located adjacent to the Tan Vat access , and just minutes from Montauk State Park and the Dorman L Steelman Lodge. There (at the lodge) you can find basic necessities and dining. To the West, Licking Missouri offers a grocery store, fuel, and dining. A little further  to the East, the city of Salem Missouri offers dining options, groceries, fuel and all the basics necessary to make your trip comfortable. In addition, Salem has a municipal airport and a beautiful 9 hole golf course.

We would be remiss if we didn't mention the Blue Ribbon trout waters of the Current River. Bring your A-game and hunt for the trophy Brown Trout, Rainbows and bronze backs a.k.a. Small Mouth Bass, in the clear waters of the Current.

Have a novice among your ranks? No worries. Just a few minutes down the road at Montauk State Park, you can purchase a trout permit and fish for a variety of trout. From average-size stockers to lunkers, everyone is sure to enjoy the fantastic fishing at one of Missouri's designated trout parks.

The Current River is ideal for floating. There are several outfitters in the area that offer canoes and kayaks. Contact information can be obtained at the cabin.
